cake care

Person in a shiny, patterned shirt carrying a three-tiered birthday cake decorated with cherries, pink frosting swiss buttercream, and candles in a festive birthday setting.

STORAGE
Cakes should be kept refrigerated until required. Store the cake in its box to help preserve freshness and protect the finish.

BEFORE SERVING
Most cakes are finished with buttercream and are best enjoyed closer to room temperature. I recommend removing the cake from the fridge approximately 40–60 minutes before serving.

TRANSPORT
Place the cake on a flat surface, ideally front passenger floor of the car. Keep the car cool and avoid direct sunlight.

CARRY CAREFULLY
Always carry the cake from the bottom of the board with both hands.

LEFTOVERS
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.
